The number on the application isn't the number at claim time.

Your stated value is an estimate. A total loss is not.

Change the condition, mileage, or spec on any of these units and watch the real wholesale value move against the stated amount. That gap is where claims friction lives. Agreed Value closes it.

Agreed Value APD See the Difference
Why It Matters

Read it from either seat.

For the agent placing the business

Every stated value is an estimate, and the market keeps moving after you bind. When a unit is totaled, a stated-amount policy typically pays the lesser of the stated value or actual cash value. Over-state the schedule and your client paid premium they can never collect. Under-state it and they come up short at the worst possible moment. Either way, that conversation lands on your desk. Agreed Value settles the number when the policy is written, so the payout is known on day one. No valuation dispute, no ACV argument, no E&O second-guessing. Just a faster claim and a client who trusts the coverage you sold them.

For the owner running the equipment

The value you put on the application today is not what an adjuster decides your truck is worth after a total loss, and that difference comes straight out of your pocket. Insure it for too little and you are short when you can least afford it. Insure it for too much and you have been paying for coverage that was never going to pay out. Agreed Value locks in the payout amount the day the policy is written, so if the worst happens, you know exactly what you are getting, and you get it fast enough to replace the unit and stay on the road.

Pick a unit, then change its condition, mileage, or spec. Its wholesale agreed value, based on industry-standard valuation methodology, updates against the stated amount, and the variance shows exactly where the exposure sits.
